Days in town

Uploaded from the Photobucket Android App

As you know, I've been on the beach house for the whole weekend. I'm sorry I couldn't record the video tutorial I promised, but it had been two very busy days for me. We arrived on Friday by train, and I have spent the mornings helping with the furniture and stuff on the house. On the evenings, I've been soo tired that I've spent full evenings until night on the swimming pool, just doing nothing. I'm sorry for being so lazy.

I've also been playing with my new smartphone. As I'll return on Thursday to the beach (I'm here basically for my driving test) I left there most of the pictures I wanted to show you. Silly me. So, I think I just can show you the outfit I chose for going on the train until there (in case you want to know: the beach town's name is ''Oropesa'', and it's more or less 100km away from Valencia) and some pictures I took with my new phone (Samsung Galaxy Ace. It's too cute!)

Next week I'll try to go to the library there, so I can update the blog easily an show you in almost ''live stream'' everything (as I'm going to stay there for almost all August). By the moment, I'm only going to show you my outfit, because my camera and the rest of the pictures are there. I finally used the DiCarla necklace I showed you here and which I've been in love with too much. My boyfriend says it's fun when I wear it, because every girl stops to look at on the street.

Airport

Photobucket
Remember my summer trip to Boston last year? That's when all of this started. This summer the same trip was organized, but as you know, I couldn't go because of the University, the driving school, take care of my boyfriend (I must spend some time with him too!) and so on...

Anyway, my friend and I wanted to receive some schoolmates who travelled back there. So, we went to the airport and while waiting for the flight to arrive, we decided to go outside and improvise a little photoshoot on the parking. There are some tunnels and gateways pretty cute to take pictures, and the light was nice.
I was wearing something very simple, because after our ''excursion'' to the airport, I had to go to my classes, and also to the doctor, so, I couldn't wear 5.5 inch heels as you can imagine!

Photobucket Oh. I remember. Lot of people have asked me how I did my hair updo. It's very easy, and I'm going to try to do a video tutorial about it soon, if my camera lets me to. It's a very comfortable hair, perfect for summer and warm weather or school, because it's a less-than-5-minutes to do and works pretty well. This weekend I'm leaving to town (you know: no Internet!) so, as I'll have time there, I'll fight with the camera!

Williamsbourg maroon vintage dress

Photobucket

Vintage. Since I discovered it about a year ago on my trip to Boston, I've been obssesed with this kind of pieces you can find on second hand or retro stores. My most loved items? Dresses and jackets. If I'm lucky, I can easily find antique dresses, maybe which came from the 40's or 60's. As you can imagine, not all of them are wearable on your everyday, but sometimes you can revamp them with a pair of pumps or sandals, and a more actual necklace.

That's what happened to me with this dress. I bought it on a vintage shop in Madrid called ''Williamsbourg vintage'' and I fell in love with it at first sigh. Maybe because it has that golwing maroon/red color I like so much how fits me. Or maybe because the elegant cut on the sleeves, which makes your arms slighty visible. I don't really know. As it is an antique dress, you can see it has a quite long lenght, but I really didn't mind about it and decided to take it home with me (with another silk dress from Max Azria I'll show you soon). I though I could make it look a bit more actual with some accesories.

Photobucket

Although what it seems, it's a very light dress, comfortable to wear (it has an almost invisible zipper on the back) and perfect for this warm but windy weather, because it's quite fresh. I decided to wear it with simple accesories, such as the Romwe gold chain necklace, and gold marble earrings.

Summer basics: Party all night

Photobucket

Summer. Warm weather, beach and suntan in the mornings, hang out with your friends for endless nights partying. Do you want some ideas of what could you wear to feel great, but still comfortable and get the beachy outfit?

Here're my ideas, wheter you prefere a long or mini, here you have some dresses you could pair with almost any sandal or flats. I just have discovered this site, Jolie Moi, when they're featuring pretty cute dresses at reasonable prices. Oasap, or Romwe are also good fits, but, when shopping on the Internet, be always careful with the sizing!

Patricia Avendaño party & cocktail dresses

Photobucket

On Thursday I spent the whole morning downtown. Almost all my friends are out of city for vacation, and because I'm taking my driving license course and I had to go to University to fill the papers and prepare all the documents to enroll on it, I'm still here bearing with this horrible warm weather.

As I had to go out to look for the Clinique treatment I talked to you about and so on (and why not, because I'm bored when I'm home in the mornings), I decided to go out dowtown to visit a family's friend who owns a bridal store (she also has lovely cocktail and party dresses, some of them by Patricia Avendaño, a very famous designer in Spain) and decided to try on some dresses, because once a year I'm having an important gala on the local holiday association (every March, Valencia celebrates the ''Fallas'' and most of us belong to a ''Falla'') and we must wear elegant or cocktail dresses. It's the perfect chance to feel like a celebrity of Gossip Girl or like you're stepping the red carpet.

I tried on four very different dresses, and I must chose one. I think all of them had that unique, classy but still actual shape that defines my style. We decided to do an improvised photoshoot so I could show you what I chose.

Madrid day 3: Museo del traje + Retiro

Photobucket
Crystal Palace on El Retiro Park. It was one of the things I was really excited to see on my trip to Madrid. It seems like we left the best things on the city for the last day. We first went to the ''Museo del traje'' (''Dress Museum'') that morning, because I really wanted to see at first-hand the magnificient dresses and styles from the XV century until nowadays you can find there.

I must say that it was horrible to find it. On the maps it says it's quite near a subway station, but they lied and we had to walk at least 15 minutes to it, under the heat of summer. The second thing I hated about it is that I couldn't take pictures on the inside (in some museums you can...) so I can't show you what awesome things I saw there folks... But sure, it inspired me to make new outfits to share with you, and mix new styles.

But, above all, what I most liked on this speed visit was the Crystal Palace on El Retiro. I don't know why, but I have always been obssesed with this place, since I saw it for the first time on a history book on school some years ago. It reminds me princesses and antique stories, nature and freedom. As on the whole trip, I decided to wear something light and comfortable because we had to walk a lot and stand a one and a half hour train trip.

And well... I'm very happy to announce you that... I'm already a Architecture Student! They accepted me, and hopefully on September I'll be starting my University year. I'm very excited about it.

Angel wings

Photobucket A stop on my Madrid post series to show you folks what I received from Oasap.com last Friday. When I saw this earrings on the store, I really thought they were very sweet and cute. Maybe they don't go very much with my usual style, but they really reminded me my childhood, and the times when I used to draw and watch cartoon series.

Photobucket

I chose this comfy outfit (I'm missing too much my heels lately! I feel like I need to wear them again, desperately!) to go to the beach town house, when we're repairing some things and doing some work, because the house it's very, very old. An awesome place to relax and spend time out of the city, because I have had a very stressed week (you know I'm taking my driving license, and I've been doing a fencing judge course, to have my license too).

So, this week I'll finally know if I'm accepted on the University or not. I'll tell you, and also, don't miss my last Madrid outfit on the next post!

Madrid: ''The Lion King'' musical + Zara ocean dress

Photobucket

''The Lion King, the musical''. Was one of the reasons why I went to Madrid last weekend. Since I know it was going to be released in Spain, I really wanted to go and see it. It was on Gran Vía, a huge street where you can find lots of theatres and cinemas. Specifically it was performen on ''Lope de Vega'' theatre. I personally found it a bit tiny for the huge dimensions that backgrounds and costumes needed. The actors usually collide on the stage. And it seems like the theatre was made to take advantage of every milimetre of space. The seats were pretty small and uncomfortable. And it seems that the air conditioning didn't work, because it was horribly warm in there.

Photobucket

But the performance was amazing. The music was excellent, and I fell in love with the costumes and the story adaptation. As you can imagine, it fas full of people. I think I would give it a 7 out of 10 in general.
For the event, I decided to wear something more elegant but still comfortable, with my black glitter flats. I wore the black vintage bag I've been wearing during all the trip (it's amazing to keep the camera and my stuff, but still not too big to travel). I paired this awesome Zara ocean dress (bought in sales! Broke my pact, haha) with a nude blazer, from Zara too because as sun started setting, wind became a bit colder.

I was looking for that dress since I saw it on the store, before sales. I felt very lucky, because there were only two or three dresses on that size. Then, they absolutely disappeared.

Madrid day 2: Plaza Norte shopping centre

Plaza Norte is a huge shopping centre near Madrid. We went there on our second day of the trip, because we had heard about it, and we wanted to meet some friends of my mum to have lunch together. So, we took the bus, and in about 20 minutes, we were there. It was very nice to stay in, because the weather outside was very warm, and almost impossible to walk under the sun rays.

I've heard it's one of the biggest shopping centres in all Europe. We went to ''La cúpula'', which is the mall inside the shopping centre. I mean, is the place where all the fashion stores and restaurants are (there are also furniture stores, and Ikea, etc. but they're all outside). What mostly impressed me when I entered was the decoration inspired on arabic and italian motifs. I have never visited it, but I've seen the ''Venetian Hotel'' in Las Vegas on pictures, and really remind me of it. Most of the stores I saw there are already on my city, but I really enjoyed to visit ''Yamamay'' store (where I bought a cute red bikini) and Pepe Jeans or Guess.

To spend the morning there, and because my feet hurt (I've been since the weekend with terrible holes and injuries on my feet. It feels like I can't walk with any kind of shoes!!) I decided to wear this comfortable flat jewelry sandals I had on my closet since last summer. Unfortunately, it didn't work, because in the afternoon my feet were injuried as when I was wearing my flats or my heel sandals. What a pitty.

I was also wearing a blue dress I bought the afternoon before in ''Honey'', a vintage store where I stopped in Madrid. In Velarde street (Malasaña) there's plenty of retro and second hand stores. I'll show you very soon more outfits with the things I bought there!!

Madrid day 1

As you may know, I travelled to Madrid this weekend, just to go out a little bit of my city, have some relax and watch ''The Lion King the musical''. I usually go there twice a year, for three or four days just to do some tourism and go out to a bigger city. This time, was time to see this musical on the theatre ''Lope de Vega'' (my experience, very soon), enjoy the sales around Madrid, visit some museums and specially, take pictures of different ambients I can't find in Valencia.

I forgot my mobile phone, and had no Internet there, so when I came back yesterday, I thought I would gone nuts with so many emails to answer. I'm preparing some collaborations and featured projects with other bloggers and some brands, some photography collabs with my best friend too, and some outfits planned!

Ok then. The trip to Madrid. In our first day, we went downtown to have lunch, walk and do some shopping. I love thrifting, and vintage style, so I visited some second hand and vintage stores on the city, and bought something I will show you very soon. I'm only going to give you a clue: I found a Max Azria dress. And I bought it. Let your mind imagine and you'll see soon! Thanks to our previous stays in Madrid, and to our underground maps, we didn't get lost and found whatever we wanted to visit. One of the places we visited was the ''Reina Sofía Contemporary Museum of Arts''. It has many paintings of very known authors such as Picasso or Miró, and also antique pictures to see. I just loved the garden on the inside of the museum, you can see the pictures if you continue reading!

Preppy navy and featuring a little doggie

Navy. I think it's one of my favourite styles to wear, because it puts together my favourite colours: black/dark blue, white and red. I think it's one of the reasons why I'm addicted to have things with the flags which have that colours. This time I decided to wear this outfit to go for a photoshot + walk the doggie with my friends Ana (also known as The Mystic Lipstick) and her little sister. They're having this puppie for about three months, and was her first walk, so we all wanted to go with her, take pictures and play with Frida, because she was very scared! Although that, she finally started having fun with us three!

I decided to wear this red wedges from Pierre Cardin I bought on sales. What a fatal mistake: they hurt too much, and now it feels like I have two huge wholes on the back of my feet, where the strap of the shoe was placed. I'm leaving for three days to Madrid tomorrow as lot of you may know, so I hope this doesn't disturb me for going to walk and take pictures!! I'll tell you my adventures there on Monday!

Antiquité

Vintage inspired fashion. I think it's what defines my style, completely. Lace helps to make this outfit elegant but still wearable, in this simple but comfy Poète white dress I chose to go out for lunch with my family. Almost once a month, we all meet to talk and have some time together.

I'm leaving to Madrid next Friday, for three days when I'll be taking pictures and do some relaxing tourism, so it was also the right ocassion to say goodbye to them until next time we see this summer. Probably I'll spend some time in August on the beach apartment, because it's quite near from the place on my boyfriend will stay. I'm also taking my driving license course, so, it's sure I'll be here on July. We'll see...

My mum bought that Rayban pink sunnies last week, because we both love Wayfarer style, they're so comfy to wear! But, imagine: I stole them from her closet, and finally kept them on mine... I just love the degraded effect on the glass. As the sunnies, the Ralph Lauren black sandals came from an outlet mall, although I bought these ones on Madrid, maybe on January...

The bag is from Tally Weijl. I think I've been wearing huge bags lately, so I thought it was time to change my mind and try with a floral purse styled bag.

Very Berry Charming Dress: Modcloth Review

Flowers. I think they are my favourite pattern when it comes to dresses or light blouses. Some friends say that my sense for fashion is like ''stucked'' in a forest full or fairies, flowers and magical things. Well, you already know me, and how much I love floral dresses. Don't ask me why, it just came up like that.

You also know that I'm a ''vintage lover''. I really like how 50's dresses (with volume on the skirt) fit me, how light and ethereal they are. So, when I discovered ModCloth some years ago, I knew I must had a dress by them. Now that I'm shopping more on the Internet than in physical stores, I decided it was time to buy one of their dresses. So, here we go with my first Modclotch review:
