Fabulous prints and new ideas on my mind. As you might know, I spent part of my final days on holidays helping my mum to sew. I don't understand much about the topic, and believe me I would totally love to know how to design, draw patterns and let my imagination fly creating my own clothing, and maybe releasing a mini-collection on a more serious way. Unfortunately, my mind took another way of creativity and my hands only know how to give shape to concrete and construction materials to finally, at the end of some really hard working weeks and nights without sleeping much, get a building where some things will be developed. So help is needed, and my mum has some sewing notions: I draw and put into paper what I'd like to get. She is the one who sews it, and teaches me how to do things right.

I only have a few time for craft and DIY projects during summer holidays, I can't really get involved in lots of things and ideas during the class period (you might know Something Fashion has its temporal hiatus too due to homework and things happening out the screen) but looks like we broke the rules visiting this fabric shop downtown the other day. Entering on a crafts and DIY supplies shop is for me like a blow of fresh air full of inspiration and ideas. I can't help but start jumping around things and seriously, I want to buy EVERYTHING.
We were actually looking for some yards of fabric to sew new vintage inspired skirts as the last one ended amazing and was pretty easy to sew without following any pattern. I was looking for a kind of "Toile de Jouy" in red or maybe maroon, but the neoprene was also on our minds because it's a texture we've never tried before. And then we saw it! This super cute, colorful and breathtaking floral print in yellow featuring those little squeezable squirrels and butterflies. Then we were told it came from the last Dolce & Gabanna fashion show and I couldn't think of any other brand to look for inspiration at the moment we decide to feature this fabric on a new piece.

Who knows what will end of this three pieces we got? Hopefully it won't be late the time I can show you something new, so stay tuned!
