#17VFW Spring/Summer 2015. Here I'm another season doing my little report on what is coming to our wardrobes, and specially Valencian wardrobes this coming year. This time with some special features running on the catwalks as most of the show's we've seen until the moment have been achieved by local emerging designers and Fashion or Design students introducing their Final Degree Projects, among some consolidated designers and brands. That has created a really powerful concept of Fashion Week on my opinion, full of contrasts and different points of view beating the catwalks. We've been also thrilled to enjoy fashion, music and every little piece of clothing at that huge white hall at "Centro del Carmen", which is great.

For all of you who follow us on our fanpage you might know that I had some mates during the evening. By the way, thank you Eduardo and Natalia from Fashionart for the help, pictures and for making the day super enjoyable! Every show was really nice to see and take pictures for all of you to see them. It feels incredible on how every designer has this kind of "vision" for the coming fashion, which is some months away, but at the same time they have their common points, shapes or color palettes. You can learn amazing things at Fashion Weeks, believe me, and not only about fashion or trends. You learn about your city and their people, about spaces, about light, about everything you could imagine. Every show is a mix of sensations coordinated by the chef designer.

As we lived on Thursday really different experiences and collections of this #17VFW, here's a little summary of what happened on this first day of Valencia Fashion Week!

As the fashion shows are happening, assistants could enjoy this Moulage (drapping technique) on the gallery of the Museum. Designs are made by students of the local Design School.

One of the first emerging designers to show her collection was Amabel García on a really architectural-inspired pieces made of knit and really tricky shapes and cuts. I liked the fact that it had really soft colors but powerful patterns and silhouettes, which made the collection very interesting.

Naoko had a great idea turning classic pieces like blazers, dress coats and cocktail dresses into this neo-victorian style full of ruffles, layers and flowy fabrics which ended on a collection with pops of the Steampunk culture, don't you think? The hairnets were a lovely detail to link all the pieces.

On the general catwalk the designer Anel Yaos surprised everybody with this reinterpretation of the urban cultures currently inhabiting the streets. Metallics, neoprene and lots of vibrant colors to show a mix of femininity and masculinity. Might have created the future swimsuit look, or maybe a total different thing!

De La Rue showed this asymmetric, casual but really good-looking pieces which principal strengths were leather and metallics as well. Mainly featuring trousers, leggings and dresses, the designer created a really urban and easy collection, wearable and pretty discret.

Although it wasn't the last show on the evening, I think I must end this post talking about the super feminine and sweet collection made by Pedro Fernández Atelier. Too much cotton candy turned into fashion for me, seriously. And I love cotton candy. Soft shapes, jumpsuits, some sparks of lace and pastel pink may be everything a super girly girl would love to have when talking about fashion, and that's what he achieved. I found it a really mature collection though, who said pink wasn't serious enough?
