St. Valentine's Day. It's already this time of the year where love is (literally) in the air, everything is filled with pink, round hearts and red roses. I must say, I really miss a little hint of something beyond those fancy gifts and love serenades only to be seen around this holiday. Because for me, if there's something special about St. Valentine's Day is how it makes love visible and almost literally touchable. Is the fact that it makes us aware of the love we experience everyday, during the rest of the year. Not only romantic love, but also fraternal and friendship! That is what St. Valentine's Day means for me.

So, disclaimer done, today I will be talking about that perfect Valentine's Day plan and what to wear to it. Because if there's something to be always excited for is a dinner with your date at one of the most elegant and iconic buildings placed in San Francisco, California. Today I'm pairing with The Fairmont Hotel to show you what I'd wear to their St. Valentine's Day dinner at the hotel.
I must say, the building itself is not only imposing, but also legendary at the city's planning. The Fairmont has that combination of both the best of the 21st Century, and the heritage and charm of those romantic, vintage movies I used to watch with my grandma on Sunday evenings at home. Having the chance of assembling an outfit was a total challenge and a pleasure at the same time, because the atmosphere of the place itself inspires you to wear your classiest jewelry and the finest dress on your wardrobe. It's almost like you have to put together the soul of the building we were talking about before, and take it to the closest possible; turn those two opposite but complementary aspects of the place into a clothing assemble.

Really hard, but (finally) possible! I was really inspired by The Fairmont Hotel lobby's ambiance, with all those columns and roof moldings which made me think about ancient Greece and Rome. I chose my outfit based on this one-shoulder long dress, which is actually pretty simple but claims for attention thanks to its bright red color. I went back to ancient cultures not only with the dress, but also with my accessories, keeping it very simple with a minimal golden clutch, a crown-style headpiece and vintage earrings. A St. Valentine's Day soiree deserves it!

Cocktail dresses. As regular clothing, cocktail and dresses for important events are meant to be flattering and fit your body the best possible. Did you know that depending on your body shape, there will be some dress shapes that will fit you better than others? There are plenty of dresses and different styles out there that will make you look amazing whatever your body shape is, but... Do you know all of them, and how you can make the best of yourself wearing a cocktail dress? In collaboration with Sherry London, I'll show you how!

I would suggest, finding the color you like the most for your party dress first (my favorite color ever for a night out is white, because is the color that reflects most the lights of a nightclub) and then start looking for its shape and details, like wearing straps or not, round or V-neck...

Sometimes it's not possible to go out and take pictures but, if you're smart enough, you can find really cool spaces inside. All you have to do is find a clear place with some natural lightning if possible, and take the tripod or someone who took the pictures for you, and pose!

This pictures were actually taken on my bestfriend's house, and she helped me to shoot them. It was quite cold outside, and it wasn't the perfect day to go out with this super short cocktail dress. I bought it last year on sales from Zara, which I really think were much better than this year sales... Fortunately, there's still more time to look for bargains!

It was hanging on the mannequin windows. It was too cute and sparkly to be real. But it was too small. After the ''recognition round'' around the store, trying some things, and taking this black and comfy pumps, I decided to go to the kids section, just being curious about. And as you can see, I found it! It's the biggest size from kids, and fits pretty well because I'm not very tall hahaha. I think it's a little bit childlike and may remind a princess costume, but I thought it was a nice idea for a party, and I really liked its white/cream color and shape, which is also very comfy (you know: not too short, not too long).

I also bought another similar dress from this section in blue with sequins (this one is a sort of mermaid/princess costume). Wore it the last night with the classmates before holidays for a party, and they just loved it! Conclusions about of all this: 

I love full mornings downtown. Almost all my friends are out of city for holidays, and because I'm taking my driving license course and I had to go to University to fill documents and prepare everything to enroll on it, I'm still here bearing with this horrible warm weather.

As I had to go out to look for the Clinique treatment I talked to you about and so on (and why not, because I'm bored when I'm home in the mornings), I decided to go out downtown to visit a family's friend who owns a bridal store (she also has lovely cocktail and party dresses, some of them by Patricia Avendaño, a very famous designer in Spain) and decided to try on some dresses, because once a year I'm having an important gala on the local holiday association (every March, Valencia celebrates the ''Fallas'' and most of us belong to a ''Falla'') and we must wear elegant or cocktail dresses. It's the perfect chance to feel like a celebrity of Gossip Girl character, or feel like you're stepping the red carpet.

I tried on four very different dresses, and I must chose one. I think all of them had that unique, classy but different and with modern sparkles shape that defines my style. We decided to do an improvised photo shoot so I could show you what I chose.
