We were very lucky to stumble upon a day of free entry to the Pinacoteca di Brera when we were in Milano. Although I have to admit that many times it is uncomfortable to deal with so many people attracted by free access in a limited space (limited but not reduced, since if there is something wonderful about most Italian art museums is that they are ginormous), as a lover of divulgation in the fields of architecture, art and culture I like that there are such initiatives bringing closer so many years of history to society. Speaking of, I take the opportunity to also name the initiative that I have started on behalf of my final degree project, in which I try to approach the history and architectural culture of my city, Valencia, through a blog. It's written in Spanish, but maybe you like it because it contains a lot of antique pictures worth taking a look at. Going back to the main topic. The truth is that we could see great works and learn a lot about Baroque and Renaissance art among others, while we were in the Pinacoteca di Brera. In addition, I found myself fascinated by the museology and the organization of the different exhibition spaces of the place. Just like when we talk about fashion it is important not only to take into account what you see at first sight (such as colors, shapes, textures) but also the seams and their reinforcements, the interfacing system, the finish of the bottom seam of a skirt... When we go to a museum of any kind, it's the same! Not only what is exposed there is important, but also how it is exposed: the temperature of the light and its position, the paths you make within a space, the materials, and colors of the finishes... Everything is important. That's why I encourage you to recall me next time you see any art exposition or fashion catwalk and look beyond what you see with your eyes. It's a great exercise to change the usual point of view!

We have rarely seen snow in Valencia. Ever. As it's a southern coastal city, temperatures are usually pretty warm and not below 7-8ºC even in Winter. The closest thing to snow you can experience there is a hailstorm with a thin layer of frost in the streets if cold enough. So, snow is a weird phenomenon for me, and although I've been warned that so it is in Firenze (where it hasn't snowed for about 5 or 6 years since the last time), we decided it was a nice moment in the Erasmus experience to go out, shoot some cool pictures surrounded by white and enjoy the day off university as all campuses and schools in Tuscany were closed due to the weather conditions. Seeing the whole city covered in snow was a nice surprise and I felt very lucky to experience it, although it finally turned into a very annoying rain.

As the day was a bit grey-colored, I decided to add some spice to it matching this Shein mustard  open-shoulder sweater and this little leather yellow bag I bought here. I must confess it's not the ideal top to wear when it's -1ºC outside, as it's open-shoulder and the fabric is soft but not warm enough. So, I put on a basic long sleeve T-shirt underneath and a wool vest on top to survive. Thanks we ended near Galleria degli Uffizi and its marvelous arched covered space, otherwise, I'd have frozen to death. However, I'm sure I'll be wearing this top over and over again when I'm back in Spain with warmer temperatures, as it's quite versatile and I'm pretty sure it will look good paired with jeans and flat shoes for a regular university day. For this snowy day in Firenze, I chose to wear my rain ankle booties and the Fedora hat because, as you can see, once the snow stopped, our heads were suddenly wet due to an intermittent rainstorm. Yes, Firenze is beautiful equally covered in snow or not but, I think I might spend the next days rolled in my blanket and sipping over a hot cocoa before stepping out of home again!

A couple of weekends ago we took an early bus Firenze-Genova to discover one of the biggest coastal cities in Italy, home of pesto sauce and (oh dreamy) focaccia. As I've done in our previous daytrips around the country during these three months, I decided to wear something as fashionable as comfortable and warm enough to deal with an uncertain weather and a long day of walking and touring ahead. Carrying a light, neutral but still warm coat as this Lightinthebox one I'm wearing is as important as carrying a bucket bag in which you can store everything you'll need in your day trip around any Italian city: wallet, smartphone, tissues and so on.

So, what did we do around Genova and what impression left on me this huge, historical city and its surroundings? Well, Genova it's way bigger than I expected, much bigger than Firenze but less touristy (or at least, less touristy when it comes to foreigners, because it was plenty of Italian families with their children) and there are plenty of marvelous sites to discover and take pictures in: Genova's Palazzi, its many University buildings, its commercial promenade covered in ah-mazing porches, both of Genova's ports... For a tiny moment, I kind of regretted being in a city which isn't as big as Liguria's main city and dealing with tons of tourists everyday in my way to class. But then, we all came back late at night to Firenze and I again felt really grateful that I'm having the opportunity of studying in the Renaissance capital for a year.

But anyway, I'll stop talking about nonsense and focus on the outfit. I'm still a bit doubtful when it comes to dressing up to stroll around Italy: the fact that my choices here are a much limited comparing to when at home, summed up that I can't figure out the weather (it changes like a crazy thing every-single-day) and added to the fact that you better wear comfortable walking shoes just makes everything complicated. My advice here to keep safe and warm would be wearing tons of layers: a T-shirt underneath a pullover, maybe a blazer if it's too cold and then your perfect go-to coat. A pair of jeggings, culotte pants with tights or even your favorite jeans are great to complete an Erasmus-proof outfit to survive endless adventures while being abroad.

Winter coats. Essential piece in my closet (and should be yours too!) when it starts being colder. Easy to wear almost anywhere, available on a wide range of colors, shapes and prices makes this clothing piece suitable for everybody. This one from Romwe plus being particularly warm and comfortable, adds a touch of elegance to my daily outfits and everyone who see it compliments me. I always make jokes saying that I'm like a little happy mushroom with it on.

When adding a full, doughnut bun and some red lipstick some of my friends tell me I look like a Matryoshka doll or something. That's fun. A coat like this is not entirely effective without gloves and a scarf. Let's face it: I don't live in Siberia, but it's cold when night falls and I need to bundle up. 

Is curious how all the photos I can take lately are on evening. It gets dark very soon, and I can't always get out of home in the morning, so the light quality is really poor but it's all I can do. With final deliveries around, I can't wait to Christmas Holidays to arrive and have some time to rest and shoot new outfits!

Weather has gone mad. Believe it or not, I've spent this last month wearing summer and strap dresses, and then, in middle February almost March, temperatures have fallen at least 10ºC. So when I was about to take out my bikini and summer hat, I had to drastically change my plans and get my coats out from the wardrobe. I love to wear bright colors on winter, it really looks very eye-catching on the mostly grey and mist ambient.

The outfit I chose for this afternoon out of home with freezing temperatures is very similar to the outfits I wear to University: comfy and simple but very personal. Yes, the heels are included, fortunately they don't hurt at all and are awesome for walking around!
