Madrid is such an exciting city! There are lots of interesting and amazing things happening there every day, every week. There's so much to do, so many miles to stroll around and still so many places I've got on my agenda to see, that every time I go on a trip there, I'm seeing a completely different city.

Last week during Madrid's Architecture Week there was held OPEN HOUSE 2016 at the city, which is a festival where some rare buildings are open to regular public for them to visit on a tour, and some architecture studios at the capital are able to be visited too. So, I got the amazing chance to meet some of my favorite architects and teams in Madrid, as they showed students how they work and what they're up to lately. It was such an experience I shared with 11 people whom I know a little (some very close friends, others close friends of my close friends living in other Spain places and coming from very far) but these days I spent in Madrid provided me the opportunity to open up to new people, to learn A LOT, visit new places I had no idea they existed... Sometimes these are the kind of experiences which really make you to stop for a little bit, take some (needed) fresh air and see things from a very new perspective. 

I arrived home exhausted but at the same time so energized! Spending time on a city which is not your hometown although you've been there uncountable times make you feel more aware of your surroundings, stepping out of your comfort zone and taking decisions on a very short period of time. Perks of travelling with a huge group of people and realizing you also need your own space of time for yourself to enjoy the city, to stroll around with no particular destination and let yourself drift to discover.

As a sporty girl, I've been always obsessed by colorful sport shoes and sneakers. I started collecting them when I was on my late teenagehood, and I still keep some pairs that still fit and didn't end very damaged by life.

There's been around lately a trend I really did despise, but which has caught my heart little by little; although you know I'm not a big any-fashion-trend fan, and that is wearing trainers and training shoes with skirts or dresses. I just love it!

I'm obsessed with the match of skater dresses or A-line dresses with colorful, patterned sneakers. If paired well, you can achieve a super feminine and comfortable look, yet different and stylish. Fashion bloggers as Gary Pepper and Tsangtastic among others you can spot on these collages I made know how to rock their sneakers + dress outfits so well! I think the key of mastering this kind of outfits achieving balance: talking about different volumes, accessories and dress/skirt shapes. Here are some useful tips I've discovered while experimenting myself with this trend:

• Plain, non-patterned sneakers go perfect with bodycon dresses and pencil skirts. They also look great with stripes and geometrical patterns.

• Converse and All-Star sneakers look good with loose dresses and flowy skirts. Pleats and vibrant colors match this shoes to achieve a very fun, fresh outfit.

• Patterned and colorful sneakers could be paired with skater dresses and simpler accessories. They key is to focus all glances to your feet, so it may be best to pair your sporty shoes with plain, non-patterned dresses or add too many colors to your outfit.

• Statement sneakers. As the type we saw at Chanel & Dior Haute Couture catwalk images above. They usually have this kind of thick sole and have almost the same structure used at real running and fitness sneakers. Although I'm a little bit hesitant about them to be used on this way, I must say they look nice with formal, long and event dresses. Not really into it, and I'm not sure if I would go that far with the trend but I like seeing these shoes worn at catwalks with high fashion and Haute Couture proposals.

Warmest September of all. I think this is the first Summer I've ever lived almost entirely at the city. Now that this Summer I had my internship at the studio, I spent big part of July and August here, which hasn't been as terrible as I firstly thought. My Summers are usually filled with beachtown vibes and ocean breeze almost everyday, so I thought I would die of heat wave at the city. None of that happened and I even lived a pretty fresh Summer, but then all those warm temperatures we haven't suffered in all the season have come on the warmest, most horrible September in Valencia I'm able to remember. Now that I started going to classes again, the only thing I can be glad of is having air conditioner machines at College.

Clothing also turned tricky, as I could manage pretty well on my fresh, comfortable, professional office look with normal temperatures around, but now it just turned impossible: it's difficult to look professional and neat from 8 a.m. to 15 p.m. running up and down the whole School building while carrying a huge backpack and dealing with hot temperatures as soon as you step your foot out the Hall's door. Just taking the bus in the morning, when the sun is still down and it's a bit cooler, feels like running a marathon.

When going to "school", I like to look as professional and serious as possible, but always keeping my own touch which is a bit of vintage, a bit classy and a bit minimal. Altogether. I go there to study, but I also get the chance to go to conferences, meetings and some events which leads you to look the best possible, and also, let's face that every profession and job related to design requires a certain aesthetics. I don't know, it's just like there's a whole atmosphere around which pushes me to look adult and reliable, both as a person and a soon-to-be architect. That's where minimal and multifunctional pieces like this zig-zag, wrap white top I can put on different positions (it's super cool! When it's unwrapped it's like a long piece of elastic, neoprene-kind-of fabric which its straps you can wear crossed or uncrossed, or laced at the back or the front) and this culottes which look like a skirt but actually aren't. Those are currently my go-to pieces, as they're both super versatile, professional looking, fresh and comfy all at the same time!

Paired with my high ponytail, the only thing I'm wishing for is that this 2.0 Summer ends soon!

I haven't been into showing too much skin for years. I've been always a very shy girl, who didn't like to feel observed or target of any kind of comments, and wearing a cropped top or even a short meant to me the world. I consider my body to be total average, and it always has been: I'm not tall at all but enough to be taller than most of my friends; I have large shoulders thanks to seven years of swimming classes and my hips are what some might consider as Latina shaped. I even have put on some weight since I left fencing practises a year ago, and daily habits of being seated for great part of the day plus studying quite a though career contributed to that. But it's OK because I feel it that way!

For years I wasn't capable of wearing a top shorter than usual. I just kept hidden in my long brunette hair and whoever said something kind or unkind to me, I just nodded shyly my head.

But now, even I have put on a bit of weight I want to get rid of, and although I keep being a little shy, I don't care at all and I feel capable of wearing whatever I want to. I feel confident enough to wear what I want to and I feel as a superwoman every time I stomp the streets with my heels. To be positive about your body and empowered as a woman is a value I always try to teach any of my friends, but especially the youngest. And I hope you are learning to empower yourselves too!

So. This black crop top is one of those pieces I feel super confident wearing on! It's not very short but still manages to be considered as a crop top, and it's made of a fabric which is not too light nor too thick, so maybe I'll be wearing it in winter with high waisted jeans or something. It's one of those pieces of clothing which go well with almost everything, and pairing it with the suitable bottom parts and accessories makes it able to wear it for the everyday or a more formal event. One of those which I always tell you to invest on!
