I never thought I would be SO HAPPY to going back home to Valencia, for once and for all. These last weeks of my Erasmus in Italy have been the closest to an academic, bureaucratic and logistic nightmare, in which I still don't know if I will be able to defend my final thesis project in Spain this coming July due to validation issues. Please, if I ever again say that I'm fed up of living in Valencia and of studying there, and it crosses my mind to get an Erasmus to Italy, hit me hard on the head.

Anyway! On the other hand, I'm overly excited because there are tons of things going on with Something Fashion, both at the blog and social media. I'm really looking forward to showing you all new Spring-Summer season outfits (there's a sneak peak already in collaboration with Shein at this post!), some of the last places I visited while in Italy and, I don't know, maybe some hints of more #fashionblogging posts in the shape of tiny blog pills, or maybe more blog posts about architecture and fashion? Drop a comment below and we'll see what we've come up with together!

Although I did some pretty amazing vintage shopping back in Firenze, in this crazy year which has been living abroad, it's been pretty difficult to mix and match outfits with some vintage pieces and antique items found in flea markets, specialized fairs and even on eBay (which, I must confess, I've become pretty addicted to) as I've tried my best, first, not to freeze in this crazy Tuscan winter we've experienced and second, be cohesive and pretty basic with all I've been wearing, as the regular Erasmus student's wardrobe is pretty limited, too. So, whenever I came back home as in this pictures, I would also stick to basics as a leather jacket and matching Chanel-inspired vintage bag and black scarf. The fun part comes with the vintage rhinestone clip-on earrings!

First things first: Merry Christmas everyone! Whether if you're enjoying holidays with your family and closest ones, or you're away home for any reason, I hope you're having a terrific time, resting if needed or partying really hard. As for me, I will be sticking to the first option as the last two weeks have been pure chaos of lack of sleep and rush everywhere. Seriously: sleeping less than 4 hours a day would have sounded almost exciting when I was a child, but now as a grown up it's the worst thing ever. Especially if you spend those 20 hours of no-sleep finishing floor plans, photoshopping images like there's no tomorrow and arguing with your teammates (or sometimes, with yourself) if you should explain something this or that way. Seriously, my fingertips hurt of being drawing last hour schemes and diagrams, and I can't even count how many painkillers I've had for my headaches on the last month or so. But it's finally holidays, work is over -for now- and here I am once again to share with you the latest outfit we just shoot a few hours ago.

I don't know about you, but Christmas and Christmas' Eve are not very big days on my family. I have very few closest relatives (just my parents, grandparents and uncles), and being an only-child and not having around any younger kids makes this holidays not being a very big deal. Instead, we just arrange some last hour dinner or lunch at home, we give each other some small gifts and enjoy family company until going back home. My favorite part is usually when my grandpa is amazed at the sushi and japanese food I've been taking with me last 2 or 3 years, and he always asks me for one or two pieces to taste.

We spent this Christmas' Eve at my grandparents' too, and as it was cold as ice out there I just felt in the mood of being wrapped on the coziest wool scarf (now I'm glad I invested on that vintage wide, huge Burberry scarf) and put on a pair of really comfortable shoes I could walk on after the insanely fun, post-exams party I was involved at three days ago. Those leopard soles are from Toutöu Shoes and since they arrived I haven't let go of them. They are craftsmen shipped in Elda, a town near Alicante (Spain) known for being cradle of footwear designers and manufacturers. I have very special feet (on the baddest ways of all) so, it's a huge thing I find shoes that fit me well. And I couldn't be happier with these! Also, the customer support was brilliant, as I thought for a moment we lost track of the package during its journey.

Our plan for today is have lunch together and maybe go to the cinema in the evening. What's your plan for the following holiday week?

Personalized scarf VS. Initial wrap blanket

I don't like to wear what everybody else is wearing. Don't get me wrong, but I'm really pissed of when something becomes "trendy" and then you go out of home and you can see that item worn more than a hundred times a day. Seriously, where's the originality? I'm not going to blame on anyone, no brand or thing (aside the one you'll see below, and which is there because it's very related to today's outfit...) but I'm sure you've have spotted at least once "the piece". There's one or two almost every year or every season and you'll recognize it because as I said, everybody is wearing it.

This wrap scarf-coat-cape-blanket from Burberry made it stellar appearance back in the 2014 Fall-Winter collection (was it september 2013? I don't even know, time goes by so quick!) and suddenly, Olivia Palermo and some celebrities started wearing their sort-of-plaid capes with their initials on it. By then I don't remember exactly, but I read an article on a fashion magazine that featured some "personalized" clothing pieces as the next trend. The blanket-cape was there of course, but also there were some clutches, passport covers and some gift ideas which included your name on it. It was a nice idea to make something you were wearing really unique, but that cape and everybody wearing it just pulled me back.

So, then my mum had this amazing idea. It was in summer when we started looking for thin wool scarves as crazy as we were. Once found, we took them to the local embroider near home. I used to take there some shirts to embroider my initials or my dad's on his, but never thought of a scarf or actually anything different than shirts. It wasn't pricey and it was possible to make on the font, color and size we wanted, and here's the result of it! A Burberry inspired winter accessory different than the usual, totally unique and super cozy. This could be used as a gift too.

I paired it on a super snowball looking outfit with this Ralph Lauren white coat, which is super warm but I'm always afraid to wear it because... Well, it's so white!
