I can't believe that almost the whole month of April has already passed by! I had a pretty crazy Easter holidays around Italy, as my family came to visit and we spent several days traveling all over the north of the country discovering different places. It was great, but I ended up exhausted and felt that I needed some rest days to digest everything I saw and all the pictures that I took to show you some outfit ideas to travel and be literally on-the-go for several days. Anything in particular that you want to know about Milan, Venezia, Verona or Bologna?

I can't believe as well that the countdown of my year abroad in Italy has already started, and that I am already packing my life back in boxes to send them back to Spain very soon. Sincerely, I really want to go home because, I feel that I have not adapted here and that Italy is not my ideal place, due to many aspects of daily life that destroy my nerves and put my normal levels of anxiety up to into the clouds. Maybe I'll tell you more things in future posts about it if you're interested (for the moment, you can read my post about "10 things I miss from Spain" or "how to find a home abroad with a little help").

As per usual in Firenze, we have had crazy weather that has made these last days around the city be literally a climatic roller coaster. The day I visited the church of Santa Croce and its square with my family (besides going to eat a delicious gelato) we had an absolutely gorgeous summer-like day, with almost 25ºC degrees of maximum temperature. I decided to wear this black COS jumpsuit that I bought while in Milano since it is long sleeved but at the same time, it is light enough to be perfect for the period between seasons. I like it because it has such a neutral and fluid design that I can combine it both with sneakers or more formal moccasin shoes and different handbags, which makes it also great to travel (and you can put it with thick socks underneath if it's very cold!).

There're days when keeping it the simplest way possible is the best. I truly do love colorful outfits, but sometimes you just feel like keeping it minimal and chic without too much.
Jeans are too warm and heavy for summer. And more for Valencian summer, which is too humid and sticky to wear nothing than your most flowing and light dresses. So, when wearing trousers thin fabrics like this white cotton are a nice idea to rock your outfit on a different and comfortable way.

In addition to this, the Bimba & Lola top (which is minimal enough, but still manages to have those awesome details like the V-neck and the slight peplum) and this striped clutch I made myself which adds texture and the fun part to the outfit! Pairing a total black or white outfit is a real challenge for me: I never know how to make it interesting enough because when pairing monochromatic looks, you still have to achieve the main point. But when it's about mixing black and white, the key is layering different patterns, fabrics and textures, always following those B&W lines. And DIY your own accessories can really make the difference!

Back to my Easter trip to Mérida and around all Extremadura and part of Spain. You can't really imagine how fooled I felt by the weather man there! As it was cloudy but not cold here in Valencia, we were surprised to deal with this terrible rainy, freezing and disturbing weather the whole week. Have you ever done sightseeing on this conditions? If you have, you must know what it feels like to carry the whole day an umbrella with your camera, with your raincoat or sweater "in case of". Plus, there's that moment when you realize you didn't carry with you enough cozy clothing to face the temperature, and the only thing you can do is mix and put all together on the strangest way the warmest things you packed. In my case, this COS black sweatshirt which is kind of sporty, but somehow I ended pairing it with this square dressy trousers and heels. And of course this super classy and sparkly earrings I bought on a typical jeweler downtown, because the zone is not only know for its ancient roman culture and ruins, but also because of their gold and silver craftsmanship pieces. 

Despite the weather and conditions, we could manage to do some visits and take really cool architecture and detail pictures as this ones taken at the Mérida Auditorium and Convention Centre built by Nieto and Sobejano, whose works I really like! I find amazing the façade detail of this building, but then you look at some of their projects and they're as nice as this one is.

Then we stopped at Salamanca and Madrid on the quickest way possible and then return home to get ready for this two-craziness-months coming with all the exams and homework stuff, which includes my final project for this curse (you can see some of the things going on at my Instagram account).

By the way! Some of you noticed my quite recent haircut (quite visible, isn't it? Haha) and asked why now as I've always worn my hair quite long. I'd just say that recently I started being bored of some things that happened around me, and realized that those things only happened because I needed a brand-new point of view. A new perspective to start being me again and don't look back! So, I thought a new hairstyle would help, and let's say, it just hasn't only helped, but it's also easier to style so, I'm very happy with the change! Sometimes we need a little thing to turn upside down our perspective and start from zero, don't you think?

Dior neck bow scarf. I discovered it on my last trip to Madrid, on the window of a Dior stand in a shopping centre. From the moment I saw it, I knew I had to do some research about it as my budget was not big enough to get the original one.

So, then I came back to Valencia and I started looking for pictures about the scarf which actually looked like a huge bow. The scheme is super simple: a fabric collar with some pins to clasp it around your neck, and two pieces attached to it creating the bow's shape (maybe a DIY tutorial soon?).

It ended like a priceless item, maybe much more valuable than the original one because... Sewing a piece yourself and then wearing it, is an awesome experience!

To complete the outfit I chose a dress I bought some years ago at a dressmaker who had a shop downtown. She designed really nice dresses and tops, mostly with geometrical motifs, she sewed them herself in almost all sizes and then sell them. Total craftsmanship. So, this is basically an almost traditional hand-sewn outfit!

I went for a really 40's inspired look, with a comfy hairstyle consisting on low bun (and tons, believe me: TONS of hairspray) and vintage handbag. The key is on the dress and its vertical lines, which is a nice resource to make you look taller and more stylized.

I wore this for the VLC Loves Design Afterwork to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of a local mall, which I'll talk to you about as soon as possible.

So... Have you ever sewn something and then wore it? Do you prefer known brands or more craftsmanship items when it comes to clothing?

Sun and beach. I can't believe we had such an horrible weather last week and now we're having the sun shining all day long and temperatures which invite to go to the beach and swim on the sea. Easter holidays are coming next week and I'm super excited about them because I'll finally have some spare time. Chill out, meet my friends, sleep.

As weather has been super lovely this weekend, we went to Oropesa to spend the morning and enjoy the beachy vibes. If there is something I really like about this town among the quietness this time of the year, are the views of the bay on the hill where the lighthouse is placed. It was plenty of ladybugs and butterflies which got hooked on the net fabric of my dress.

As you might have read on recent posts, I'm really trying hard to twist the blog. Give it a total new and unique meaning, create content that interest you (because you are the readers, who really consume the photos we take and the things I write here), socialize, take Something Fashion to the next level.

Glitter sunnies. I've been totally addicted to collect sunglasses recently. I think it's a clue accessory than can make your outfit absolutely different, add some spark and glam to it instantly. So, when I heard about the Carrera X Jimmy Choo collection and saw the awesome design and styles, couldn't help and I knew I was lost. I'm not really a Carrera sunglasses girl, I think the designs are mainly too sporty and informal for me. But this ones had that ''something'' and as a Christmas present were the perfect choice.

And finally, yay! Some shots at daylight, with great illumination, nice and really contrasted colors, and featuring our little car! I'm really excited to be driving it really, really soon. I can't believe 2013 has almost flown away, and after holidays it's a really little time until finishing my 2nd College year. That's exciting! I hope 2014 is full of new discoveries, new friends, projects and fun.

About the outfit... I've been too obsessed with neoprene things this season, since this fabric came out like mushrooms and I find it super light and comfortable to wear. It was a really improvised outfit, like taking things out of the closet without thinking too much about it, but it ended on a nice 70's inspired look with those stripes and the red high heels, and the glitter on the sunnies. What do you think?

White kimono from Benavente collection ''Ikebana Tori''. As you may remember, I wrote a post about it about a month ago, when the team of YOUNIQUE came to deliver it personally to me :)

I was really excited to finally wear it, but everything got complicated somewhat suddenly: trips, more pictures and projects to do, not really sure how to combine the kimono being all white, also injured my arm so had to carry with that bandage... Such a disaster.

Finally decided to experiment a little bit, and pair this white, silky kimono with a very minimalistic and simple outfit. I must recognize that I finally didn't like at all how it came with those bootcut black pants... I mean, now I see I have should paired it with a pair of skinny matte trousers or jeans for a more informal look as this is a really dressy piece. The bandage on my arm didn't help at all (I totally felt like a white mummy), so finally had to take it off for some minutes.

I think the red on the Michael Kors Jet Set bag, the vintage necklace and also on my lipstick gave the outfit a touch of needed color. With darkness around, and the shape of the sleeves of my kimono I was afraid of looking like a creepy ghost!

Experimenting with clothes is something I've been trying hard lately. I'm really tired of always wearing the same combinations of colors (specially black+white+red) which is not bad, but is boring. Okay, I admit this time I sinned again with the same color scheme, but I feel like adding this colorful statement necklace from Zara, with flowers, lots of shades and things added that needed different touch.

This stripes dress caught my attention because it reminds me of the beach, although is made of a very thick  but comfy fabric. I love how it fits! I've been experimenting with makeup too, and this time I did my eyeliner a bit different than usual, I went for the cat eye look. I hope this is only the beginning of lots of outfits full of changes, experiments and some fresh air on my personal style which I hope keep inspiring all of you!

Finally, I'm really really sorry for the pictures collapse. The server I always use to load the pics has failed, and it won't be restored until two or three days. However I'll keep posting as usual, so I hope the problem is solved soon.
